HOD Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) Vulnerability

IBM Host On-Demand (HOD) pages are vulnerable to Cross-Site Scripting (XSS).

Description of XSS from application auditors:

"Cross Site Scripting (XSS) is a web application vulnerability where user input is not sanitized properly, allowing a malicious user to embed client side javascript into a web application. The malicious attacker will then coerce another user to navigate to the affected page with the embedded javascript which will then be executed in the user's browser without their consent.
A malicious user could use the XSS vulnerabilities to capture authenticated users credentials, accessing sensitive information or tricking users to use a false website to capture other sensitive information. This could weaken user trust in these sites by redirecting unsuspecting users to an attacker's own malicious web site that could result in compromised PII data."

We have evaluated this request and determined that it cannot be implemented at this time because this would be handled as part of HACP EE [zero footprint client] implementation.

A preliminary evaluation of this request indicates that it is consistent with our business strategy. Further evaluation of this RFE is underway.
