Seperate 'started tasks' Control Elements types from 'batch' Control Element types in the HourGlass Control Center

HourGlass was the recommended product replacement for Application Time Facility. Application Time Facility had seperate types of processing to seperate started tasks from batch processing jobs. Application Time Facilty had a type STC for started tasks and a type JOB for batch jobs. This allowed for seperation of a definition between the 2 types, whereas the HourGlass Control Center only has a type of MBAT, which can define either a started task or a batch job to make it available for date/time warping. Seeing as how the adminstration of the HourGlass date/time changes are handled by a seperate group of testing administrators who do not know or care about the many started tasks are running on the mainframe LPARs, this leaves a large hole for possible system processing errors for the mainframe started tasks. So far, this has impacted both the IBM Fault Analyzer product and also had a catastrophic impact on the Computer Associates CA7 scheduling started tasks.

Based on our current plans and priorities it is not likely that this will be implemented in the next 12 months and so it is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.
