Create a New FMID to install JAVA interface within IBM HourGlass for z/OS

Currently, the way the product is packaged FMID HAD5710 fails to APPLY when ordering it as a CBPDO via Shopz.

RELFILE:   IBM.HAD5710.F1 (contains)
NAME
AGG1DCSI
AGG2RECV
AGG3ALCS
AGG4DDEF
AGG5APLY
AGG6ACPT
  --END--

It fails to bring members:   AGG35ALC and AGG45DDF; which, are needed to install (support) the JAVA Interface.

After executing jobs: AGG3ALCS and AGG4DDEF successfully (RC=0), Job AGG5APPLY ends with a condition Code 08

GIM54502E ** ALLOCATION FAILED FOR SAGGLOD2 BECAUSE THERE IS NO DD STATEMENT IN
THE JCL AND NO DDDEF ENTRY IN TARGET ZONE TGTZONE.
GIM28307E ** ALLOCATION FAILED FOR SAGGLOD2, WHICH IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO
PROCESS ELEMENT AGGJAV64 IN SYSMOD UI55310.
GIM22601I    APPLY PROCESSING FAILED FOR SYSMOD UI55310.
GIM54502E ** ALLOCATION FAILED FOR SAGGJEXT BECAUSE THERE IS NO DD STATEMENT IN
THE JCL AND NO DDDEF ENTRY IN TARGET ZONE TGTZONE.
GIM28307E ** ALLOCATION FAILED FOR SAGGJEXT, WHICH IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO
PROCESS ELEMENT AGGJXTAR IN SYSMOD UI92404.
GIM22601I    APPLY PROCESSING FAILED FOR SYSMOD UI92404.
GIM30227E ** APPLY PROCESSING FAILED FOR SYSMOD UI90183 BECAUSE PROCESSING
FAILED FOR SYSMOD UI92404. SYSMOD UI92404 CONTAINS HIGHER LEVELS OF
            COMMON ELEMENTS.
GIM30202E ** APPLY PROCESSING FAILED FOR SYSMOD UI55001. ALL SYSMODS THAT WOULD
            HAVE SUPERSEDED UI55001 HAVE FAILED.
GIM35942I    SYSMOD UI55310, WHICH WOULD HAVE SUPERSEDED SYSMOD UI55001, FAILED.
GIM20502I    SMP/E PROCESSING IS COMPLETE. THE HIGHEST RETURN CODE WAS 08. SMP/E.

After a lot of wasted time and frustration, PTFs UI55001/UI55310 read that you have to cut and paste the JCL necessary to install those libraries. (Jobs that are missing from the RELFILE -- IBM.HAD5710.F1).

My recommendation is: that a new FMID get added to the product for the JAVA interface; it will eliminate a lot of endless time to IBM's support; and unnecessary manual work on the part of the customer. If JAVA is not be intended to be used, why going through all this unnecessary work.
An FMID (for JAVA) will allow the customer to bypass/eliminate the JAVA headache and have the rest of the product installed without much problem.

PS: Not everyone might want to or need to have JAVA within the HourGlass product.

Thank you for the evaluation. The development team is reviewing ways to improve the Java installation process. The team has evaluated the FMID suggestion and they are looking at alternate options to implement in a future HourGlass release. At this time a new FMID is not in plan, however we will keep this in mind in future reviews. While this Idea will be declined for now, it may be reconsidered at a future point. We do not anticipate it will be implemented in the next 12 months, until after other options are evaluated.
