Manage host attached DASD with Cinder to attach and detach to ICIC VMs

In some storage performance needs scenarios (i.e. Openshift ODF Disks) is required to have very good disk  performance, that cannot be achieved using QCOW2 files. So it could be vey useful to direct attach/deatch a DASD (online in the hosts and not used) directly to a VM (better using /dev/disk/by-path/ notation). It can be done easy with KVM:

Defining the resource in an xml file:

<disk type='block' device='disk'> <driver name='qemu' type='raw'/> <source dev='/dev/disk/by-path/ccw-0.0.e2c0'/> <target dev='vdd' bus='virtio'/> </disk>

and attach it to a target VM:

virsh attach-device vmtest01 dasd-e2c0.xml

Unfortunally this is a manual operation not tracked / managed inside ICIC.
We'd like to attach/detach one or more DASD  device from the hosts to a VM using cinder, so it is tracked and managed by ICIC.
