All searching criteria should be listed as dropdowns in CARMA-Endevor

RDz used to populate the Endevor stage as a dropdown in CARMA filter. However, the dropdown list is not 100% accurate since Endevor stage code is not unique (Endevor stage name is). IBM recently release a fix that make the Endevor stage a free-formed entry field instead of a dropdown. While that is less confusing, it also become less convenient. Endevor in ISPF provides a way to allow users to pick the entry fields. For example, if you put a "*" in the System field, Endevor will list all the System names and allow you to pick which one to search for.

I would like to see the stage dropdown be a combination of stage name & stage code. All other free-formed entry fields (other than Element) should also be dropdowns instead of free-formed entry fields. Since all these fields are rarely changed, it shouldn't be too difficult to cache them and provide them as a list in CARMA.

Thank you for taking the time to submit an enhancement for IBM Developer for z/OS. Customer input is invaluable to our products and many new functions and enhancements result from feedback. All input is very important to us to improve and server our customers.

We realize this Request for Enhancement has been in our backlog for quite some time and it is currently still not in our roadmap for the next two years. Instead of keeping it indefinitely in our backlog we have decided to respond with a decline.

If you would like to discuss this decision in more detail please reach our to Joy Spohn (joys@us.ibm.com). Or, you can resubmit in 12-18 months for reconsideration. Thank you again for your suggestion.
