RSE is outlined as the ENQ-User for a user- or team-library under TSO/ISPF

In certain cases, RSE is outlined as the ENQ-User for a user- or team-library under TSO/ISPF. The origin user, who has the ENQ cannot be evaluated in TSO/ISPF by hitting PF1 twice.

There is a workaround to determine the correct user, who has the ENQ on a specific user- or team-library. In IDz it is possible to use the function “show in table” which can be executed from the IDz context menu of a library.

Why is this information important?
Some user- or team-libraries are still PDS libraries, which must be compressed once the index-space of the library is full. Also when the allocated space of the library is reached, the space of this library must be increased. As long, as at least one user has an ENQ on this library, neither the compression nor the space extension of the library can be performed and developers working on members of this library are blocked in their daily work, because they cannot save their work on this library.

The same situation may come up with PDSE libraries, when the space of the library exceeds the allocated space-limit.

Even if they store their work on another zOS file and cancel their edit session in IDz, the library has still an ENQ from RSE.

Shutting down RSE is not an acceptable solution because all users actually working with IDz on the same RSE are restrained by this step.

What is the recommended solution for those cases?

And this should be implemented then

This RFE is being rejected because a defect has been discovered. A problem (PMR) should be opened for the problem if it hasn't been already.
