This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

Content Assist / blank after parenthesis

content assist does not work in a PL/I source
when there is no space after a parenthesis.

We received the following reply from IBM Software Support on 2008-07-08:
I checked with the development team here and am told the this is the way
the Content Assist was designed and has always worked.
Curretnly there are no plans to change.

It would be helpful for us if this limitation can be eliminated by your developers.

Look at the Enterprise PL/I for z/OS V3.7 documentation, there is no blank after the parenthesis?

Enterprise PL/I for z/OS V3.7 Language Reference

19.230 SUBSTR

SUBSTR returns a substring, specified by y and z, of x.

This request will not be delivered within the next year, but the theme is aligned with our two year strategy.
