This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

The new 'Check for sequence numbers in both areas' Unnumbering option is linked to RFE 68691 (delivered in RDz 9.5.1).
It can be reached in Window > Preferences > COBOL > Editor > Sequence Numbers.
When this option is selected and the Unnumber action is chosen in the editor the sequence numbers will be removed from area 1-6 as well as from area 73-80.
However, this new designed for Euro Information solution works only to "Unnumber" (Ctrl + Shift + -) but not to "Renumber" (Ctrl + Shift + =)
the sequence numbers in a file.
We cannot Renumber the two columns together if the option 'Check for sequence numbers in both areas' is ticked.
We want IBM to give us a solution to "Renumber" the two columns (at the same time) when this option is ticked.
This request is for us justified by the fact that the sequence numbers are always linked to pairs of commands like 'num on/num off' or 'num std/unnum' under TSO ISPF or under LPEX in RDz.
In the same logic, Unnumber or Renumber should have been considered as pairs of commands.
Thus, we should be able to impact the two columns at the same time with Unnumber or with Renumber when the option 'Check for sequence numbers in both areas' is ticked.
