This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

At a minimum consider generating code for COBOL program coverage to create a starter pack of test cases. It is very time consuming to build a starter pack and build-as-you-go is not a reliable and good measure of quality of code.
Thank you for taking the time to suggest an enhancement to our product. Many of our product enhancements result from feedback from our customers, so your input is always very important to us. We feel this is a valid requirement but delivery within the RFE 2 year window is not likely. Please resubmit in 12-18 months for reconsideration if still valid.
Again, thank you for your suggestion and continued support
A preliminary evaluation of this request indicates that it is consistent with our business strategy. Further evaluation of this RFE is underway.
RBC needs the tool from IBM to provide auto - generated test cases for each type of mainframe elements: COBOL: JCL; SYSIN, PROC etc. It's up to IBM to provide the architecture solution and development implementation.
If you need more information - p[lease specify what else RBC can provide.
Thanks Vlad
The general idea is to have some utility / tool allowing to auto-generate test cases for Cobol elements in similar way we have for distributed ( java) with tool Randoop.
.Vlad, Can you please add more details to explain the use cases and business impact
