IDz MVS filter should allow to create filter having first qualifier as * in dataset names similar to 3270?

This would be useful to display say the first 10 entries. Mainframe 3270 screen allows wildcard for first level qualifier , why IDz it is not allowed since most of time its need to do search on wild card on first level qualifier.


To imrpove performance , IDz should not display all the result in one go just display first few (ex- first 10) and click more option.

    Thank you for taking the time to suggest an enhancement to our product. Many of our product enhancements result from feedback from our customers, so your input is always very important to us. However, your request for enhancement is not currently aligned with our product strategy and vision and we have no plans to address your request in the near future. Again, thank you for your suggestion and continued support.

    As a workaround you can do a search in the following way: Right click on MVS Files, then click Search, then select the Remote z/OS Search tab, and enter the search parameters with a wildcard as the high level qualifier, eg "*.COBOL". The results will show the datasets with "COBOL" in the name regardless of the HLQ. You can then click the flashlight icon at the top to add that query to My Favorites in the remote systems view, and in the future you can double click on the favorite to repeat that search.
