JDK LCM for IBM Installation Manager and Package Utility

Installation Manager and Package Utility is considered a threat for our mission critical applications by our security department, because it runs on an IBM supported open JDK version 8. This version is considered out of date and does not receive the more structural security enhancements, apart from critical patching. This might create an attack surface towards our mission critical systems.

Installation Manager and package utility has a history of lagging strongly behind the market with respect to the JDK version, and the common atmosphere is that you should run with at least the latest version -1. For now we have temporary permission to still run the applications in an isolated installation, but we need to phase out this application when this does not change. The request is to apply a more current LCM strategy where every version comes with a JDK that is at least GA version -1.
