New configuration setting for the IDz GUI "z/OS UNIX Files" to restrict the recursive deletion of directories

With the IDz GUI “z/OS UNIX Files” it is easy to start a recursive deletion of Unix directories. IDz will give you a warning before. If you confirm the whole tree will be deleted.

In native Unix System Services it is possible to use an alias for the “rm” command (/etc/profile): alias rm="rm -PF"
This can prevent the accidental deletion of root directory contents and skips directories in file systems that are different from that of the corresponding command-line argument.

We would like to have settings similar to this to restrict the recursive deletion within the IDz GUI “z/OS UNIX Files”.

An other improvement would be when GUI “z/OS UNIX Files” provides more warnings and suggests a possibility to stop the deletion, for example when the user gets an authority error.
