Support for Endevor Processor Group Steps with SYSTSPRT/SYSTSIN Allocation via Execute Package Command

In the IBM Developer for z/OS (IDz) CARMA Endevor integration, CA Endevor® processor group steps that allocate SYSTSPRT or SYSTSIN datasets currently fail with allocation errors when executed in foreground mode or through the execute package command.

Current Workarounds:

  • Execute the processor group in background mode
  • Use the submit package command instead of execute package command
  • Implement processor logic to detect and handle foreground mode execution (similar to the Endevor sample GCIIDBL with its BINDFG and BINDBG steps)
  • In specific scenarios involving IRXJCL steps, utilize CARXJCL
