This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Product - Developer for System z
The feature that is described in this request is a candidate for a future release.
I agree that this should be included in the next release of RDz. Several other companies building 3rd party plugins are already doing this and IBM needs to give this attention to meet the customer's expectations.
Another JCL related RFE that I consider a necessity.
Just trying to suggest an alternative to get the ball rolling since this RFE had been out here for a while. My alternative can be handled completely within RDz for RDz submitted jobs. Modifying the NOTIFY parm will probably take a JES change either allowing the specification of an IP address or translating the user ID to an IP address (or both?).
That is no solution for us. There are automatically submtted jobs where nobody can be asked. There are jobs intended for other useres with NOTIFY parms not containing the own userid. There still are the SEND commands we use. etc.
But a question to IBM: It is more than two years sind Nov09. Is there anything you can tell us about a time when it will be released?
Instead of keying off the NOTIFY parm in the job card, you could add a submission prompt like the LOCATE JOB prompt that asks the user if they want to be notified when the job finishes. RDz could then monitor the job status every couple of minutes and notify the user when the job completes.
These NOTIFY functionality would be very important for us. All users request this function.
This requirement has been accepted and will be evaluated for a release within the next two years.
