This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Is not the purpose of the button to check that all the required datasets exist so that no compilation error exists?
As such, when for the current I perform I would like to know whether the datasets for this particular exist. When I do a rebuild the is resolved; is the check not a reduced-scope rebuild?
The requested information was not provided and the RFE is being closed.
Property groups are no longer assocaiated with a specific HLQ anymore. They are project and HLQ independent and we chose not to allow that in the first place. Property Group editor is checking it from an unknown vantage point hence we do not know what more can be done here. Thanks.
A different HLQ may be used, but this is probably not the usual situation. At least check using the current HLQ.
A different HLQ may be used, but this is probably not the usual situation. At least check using the current HLQ.
We would like some clarification on this RFE since the value substituted for HLQ could differ at the time the actions which use the Property Group are run. For example, the value used for HLQ could be different when executing the Generate JCL action on members in two different MVS subprojects even though these subprojects use the same Property Group. This is because HLQ can be set as a property on an MVS subproject. Therefore when editing a property group definition the Check Data Sets action does not have a value to use for HLQ, and even if one was supplied, it may not be the same as the value used when an action is actually run. Thanks.
