What about LAN, network drives?
In case where the Asset Analyzer server is on the user's workstation, it would be relatively straight forward to offer a browse option. However, this is actually the unusual case for the Asset Analyzer. In most deployments, the Asset Analyzer server is remote from the user's workstation. When the user opens the inventory wizard from their browser, the directory path that must be specified needs to reflect the Asset Analyzer server filesystem, where scanning will be taking place. The Asset Analyzer server can be significantly removed on the network from the user's workstation. The Asset Analyzer web application on the user's workstation may or may not even have ability to browse the directories there, not to mention authority. There is no practical design to implement this request.
