Support for RDz (HLL/WB) COBOL Compiler on Windows 7 until 2012 4Q End.
This target date is TOKIO Marine's requirement.
?Reasons?
We know the current strategy for local testing is to take advantage of the new RDz Unit Test. In fact, We propose RDz Unit Test to TOKIO Marine, now.
But, we have difficulties to use RDz Unit Test ,
If COBOL compiler is not supported on Windows 7, There is a risk that customer won't use HLL/WB and will select Micro Focus Net Express (Windows COBOL compiler)..

    As indicated in the most recent announcement (http://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/cgi-bin/ssialias?infotype=AN&subtype=CA&htmlfid=897/ENUS211-358&appname=USN): With the availability of the optionally purchasable Rational Developer for System z Unit Test extension, IBM has deprecated the Windows-based unit test capabilities in the Rational Developer for System z Integrated Development Environment products as of V8.0.1. The deprecated capabilities, based on the IBM Windows™ compilers for COBOL and PL/I, CICS TX for Windows, and DB2 for Windows, continues to be supported for defect fixes and support questions, but no new enhancements, feature updates, or additional platform support are planned. These features will be removed from the Rational Developer for System z package at a later date.

    At this time our direction is to focus resources and support on unit testing around the RDz Unit Test feature.
