Thank you for taking the time to submit an enhancement for IBM Developer for z/OS. Customer input is invaluable to our products and many new functions and enhancements result from feedback. All input is very important to us to improve and server our customers.

We realize this Request for Enhancement has been in our backlog for quite some time and it is currently still not in our roadmap for the next two years. Instead of keeping it indefinitely in our backlog we have decided to respond with a decline.

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:

This RFE is consistent with our roadmap and is being considered for delivery in the next 2 year time frame. Thanks.

Here are some clarification on this request : When transfering a sequential file(not a PDS member) with LRECL 50 from HOST to Local, if the characters from 21 to 50 are blanc , we need to keep them blanc, so to keep the same lenght of 50 , with blancs from char 21 to 50.
When transfering a sequential file (not a PDS member) from Local to Host, the transfered file on the Host is systematically created with VB255.
We need to have a wizard requesting for the format to be associated to this file. Thank You for you attention on this important request.

We need some clarification on this RFE. When a MVS file is copied to local file, information like LRECL is lost because local file does not have such attribute. When the local file is copied back to MVS partitioned data set, the transferred file's LRECL is determined by the target container PDS.

Do you want to keep the original MVS file's LRECL along with the transferred local file? OR Do you want to fill trailing white space up to 50 characters in the transferred local file based on the original file's LRECL?
