User Exits During DDL processing

During processing for a DEDB database member, a user exit will be needed to validate the vendor data in the catalog, and place it into an extension to Directory member. The exit should be able to add related SHISAM database(s) to the list of databases to be processed by the Directory generation functions.
During processing for a PSB member, a user exit will be needed to validate and modify the contents of the PSB. Specifically, it must be able to add database PCB(s) to the PSB that reference any related SHISAM database(s). The PCB(s) might be defined for either retrieval only or for full update of the SHISAM database(s).

Another specific requirement is that the exit must be able to remove the PROCSEQ parameter from a PCB for a DEDB database; note that this is similar to, but not the same as the PROCSEQD parameter used by FPSI. The exit should be able to record all changes it makes to the PSB in the vendor data segment of the catalog. We need these exits in DDL - Online Block Builder to build the PSB and DMB members in Directory from the vendor data.

    Hi Anshul,

Thank you for your interest in keeping IMS a vital and successful product. Software development has continuously evolved during IMS's lifetime, and so has IMS itself. We have kept pace with, adopted, and implemented many industry standard best practices within our organization, including Continuous Delivery, Design Thinking, and Agile.

When choosing new features to add from the list of requirements in our backlog, we assess which will bring the most value to as many clients as possible and prioritize those.

After reviewing this request for enhancement and assessing its potential value, our decision is to add this item to our backlog. Items in our backlog are expected to be delivered within the next 18 months. We reserve the right to re-prioritize our backlog items as new requests come in. This helps ensure that we are constantly focused on providing the best value to all of our clients.

    Have a great day!
