DB2/RHEL/Systemd compliance gaps

Our mutual customer has identified several gaps in functionality with regard to the IBM DB2 database that were exposed when Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 transitioned from a System V init environment to systemd for booting and service initialization.

The prior technique of using scripts to manage common database functions is not longer operational under systemd.

The result is that systemd cannot correctly manage key business database functions to the satisfaction of the customer with the existing binaries supplied by IBM.
