advanced metadata objects with the JDBC driver outside of IMS Explorer

Currently there only exists a way to export an artifact to supply the
DLIDatabaseViews to the IMS Universal JDBC driver as the non-Catalog
metadata source. The DLIDatabaseView does not support advanced metadata
objects like Segment Map Cases or UserTypeConverters. We have a need to
run queries requiring these advanced metadata objects with the JDBC
driver outside of IMS Explorer without having them reside in the IMS
Catalog itself. We'd like a feature added to export some other
artifact that will support the advanced metadata objects.

This RFE has been rejected as similar functionality is currently available in the IMS Explorer Version 3.2.1.1. While there are no plans to modify the DLIDatabaseView support, there is support for a pseudo-catalog through the use of local XML metadata files. In the IMS Explorer driver connection properties window, if you select Local IMS Explorer project you can see a JDBC connection URL being generated that will the local XML metadata files created by the IMS Explorer. Similar to the DLIDatabaseView, the xml files will need to reside in your application classpath so they can get picked up by the IMS JDBC driver.
