This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

This was officially available to IMS Connect API clients in ES 2.1.
Type-2 commands are officially supported by the Connect API for Java as of Enterprise Suite 2.1. This is copied from the 'New features' section of the Connect API for Java:
Support for IMS type-2 commands
The Connect API for Java now supports IMS and IMS Connect type-2 command input. The Connect API for Java can return the response data as either a raw XML document or as a parsed response object.
Included in the download are sample applications, one of which is a sample for type-2 command support.
I was asked if this satisfies my requirement. The answer is no. I was told that the IMS Connect API can only be used by the Control
Center at this time. We do not use the Control Center and have no current plans of using the Control Center.
We current issue Type 1 IMS Command and IMS transaction through an IMS Connect interface. I need the IMS Connect API to be
opened up so that we can use our tool to issue Type 2 IMS Commands.
Type-2 command support is available through IMS Connect using the IMS Connect API. IMS Connect API is available with Enterprise Suite. The type-2 command support is available as of version 2.2.
Please confirm whether this satisfies the requirement.
