reopen of ID: 109777

My understanding was that IBM was now going to work on developing a change to address ID: 109777 , RCT ID: 89883 , other ID: 105737 but have not seen any update to it regarding this statue change. I also added a new comment as base on further reading the full function feature that we wanted added to fastpath does not seem to fully address the issue.

    Hi Lincoln,

Thank you for your interest in keeping IMS a vital and successful product. Software development has continuously evolved during IMS's lifetime, and so has IMS itself. We have kept pace with, adopted, and implemented many industry standard best practices within our organization, including Continuous Delivery, Design Thinking, and Agile.

When choosing new features to add from the list of requirements in our backlog, we assess which will bring the most value to as many clients as possible and prioritize those.

At this time, after reviewing this request for enhancement and assessing its potential value, we have decided to reject it. The reason we are rejecting RFE is due to higher priority items preventing us from delivering this RFE within 18 months . You are welcome to resubmit this RFE at a later date and we will reconsider.

We appreciate your input to IMS, and we hope that you will continue to submit ideas for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of IMS.

    Thank you.

    Sincerely
    Swetha Sridharan

    Hi Lincoln,

As a follow up on RFE 120054, IMS plans to provide the transaction expiration support to cover Fast Path transactions. The new support would be similar to the existing transaction expiration support for full function transactions. If you are interested in transaction expiration for fast path transactions, let us know & we will put this RFE on our backlog list.
    Thanks.

    Best,

We have reviewed your RFE 120054.
At this point we feel that transaction expiration for Fast Path transactions is warranted.
However, removal of the message from the message queue pool for an expired transaction is not our strategic direction & also it would be too expensive (in terms of performance) to implement.
For that sort of functionality you should look into QCF & maybe submit an RFE with QCF.
If you are interested in transaction expiration for fast path transactions, let us know & we will put this RFE on our backlog list.
    Thanks.

    With warm regards,
