IMS SINGLE TCB per TMEMBER BOTTLENECK

The current IMS design has a single TCB per TMEMBER, resulting in bottlenecks once transaction volume approaches the critical limit (which is unknown at this time). While IMS performance testing has shown IMS can handle 100K trxs per second, the benchmark was based upon a non MQ configuration. With a single MQ the processing limit appears to be closer to 25K instead of 100K per second. IMS design should not force MQ processing to be serialized thru a single TCB. The OTMA developer has said that he would like to work on a long term solution to the single TCB bottleneck problem. Please update the IMS design to eliminate the single TCB bottleneck when processing messages between IMS and it's TMEMBERs. Thanks.

    Hi Gied Jankaitis,

    Thank you for your interest in keeping IMS a vital and successful product. Software development has continuously evolved during IMS's lifetime, and so has IMS itself. We have kept pace with, adopted, and implemented many industry standard best practices within our organization, including Continuous Delivery, Design Thinking, and Agile.

    When choosing new features to add from the list of requirements in our backlog, we assess which will bring the most value to as many clients as possible and prioritize those.

    At this time, after reviewing this request for enhancement and assessing its potential value, we have decided to reject it. The reason we are rejecting RFE 84307 is that it isn't strategic to our current roadmap.

    We appreciate your input to IMS, and we hope that you will continue to submit ideas for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of IMS.
