Locked data due to failure in DB2 thread deallocation in MPP abend

On transaction abends additional failures can occur that prevent deallocation of the DB2 threads. DB2 data may remain locked until the problem is noticed and the thread is cancelled or the MPP region recycled.
When IMS fails to deallocate the DB2 thread on transaction termination it should tissue a message. It could even be considered to terminate the MPP region immediately (should normally be restarted by automation immediately).

Thank you for your interest in keeping IMS a vital and successful product. Software development has continuously evolved during IMS's lifetime, and so has IMS itself. We have kept pace with, adopted, and implemented many industry standard best practices within our organization, including Continuous Delivery, Design Thinking, and Agile.

At this time, after further review this request for enhancement, we have decided to reject it. The reason we are rejecting RFE ID 128077 is because we do not have enough information given the issue cannot be recreated to get additional information.

If you can provide further information or have any other question, please contact us and we would reconsider.

    Thank you!
