Enhancement Request: Integration of Connect Direct Statistics in IBM Z OMEGAMON AI for Networks

I am writing to propose an enhancement to the IBM Z OMEGAMON AI for Networks suite that I believe would significantly elevate its functionality and appeal. By integrating the Connect Direct Statistics exit, users would gain the capability to collect both FTPS and Connect Direct file transfer statistics within a single, unified interface.

For many years, CA Broadcom has successfully implemented this feature within Netmaster, allowing users to view NDM and FTPS file transfer statistics side by side. This integration has proven invaluable, and I strongly believe that incorporating a similar feature into OMEGAMON would be highly beneficial. It would not only facilitate comprehensive monitoring and alerting on NDM failures but also support archiving for subsequent analysis and troubleshooting.

Such an enhancement would be a substantial advantage for organizations considering transitioning from Netmaster, providing them with a robust and comparable alternative.

From a technical standpoint, I anticipate that the effort required to collect both FTPS and NDM file transfer statistics within OMEGAMON would be minimal. The primary changes might involve increasing the VSAM size to accommodate the additional data and adding columns to capture the additional statistics from Connect Direct.
