Naming of the Omegamon XE agents

Each zOS based Omegamon product agent has its own method of determining the hostname for the agent. This naming is hard coded and the methodology can be different between the different agents.

Thats's why it is necessary to get the CTIRA_HOSTNAME variables incorporated into all the Omegamon XE agents or anything equivalent that could allow the name of the agents to be modified.

    Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - zSeries Software
    Product - Tivoli OMEGAMON XE on z/OS

    For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:

    Hi,
    I don't know how I could modify the request other than posting a comment here...

    So, to clarify, the name of the Omegamon XE agents cannot be modified in ITM. Ex. the command 'tacmd listsystems' shows the agents connected to the environment. It is possible to change the name of the ITM distributed agents using the CTIRA_HOSTNAME variable at the agent level, but the zOS product agents do not/cannot use this variable. It would be good to have this variable usable across all platforms and ITM products.

    Not only the Omegamon XE for z/OS agents are having this issue, but all Omegamon XE agents.

    Hello, can you clarify what the problem is and what you would like changed. Are you saying all the agents do not support specifying the CTIRA_HOSTNME variable or something else?
    Can you be more specific please and if there are issues with certain XE agents please name them.
