Support PDT files with IPP

We are preparing for the implementation of IPP (Internet Print Protocol) in our agency. Beginning in 2025, Microsoft will no longer publish new print drivers. By 2027, 3rd party print driver updates will no longer be allowed. We have legacy applications that use the PCOMM 3270 print sessions. They have PCL encoded with them requiring pass-through mode when using PDT files with PCOMM. We can’t print when using the PDT mode with IPP based printing. Our agency can’t move forward with the implementation of IPP without first resolving this PDT issue. PCOMM should continue to support the use of PDT files with IPP.

A preliminary evaluation of this request indicates that it is consistent with our business strategy. Further evaluation of this RFE is underway.
