This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

This was delivered (more or less) in 5.3 by upping the LINECOUNT max value to 64k. With that value, there would be very few page feeds in any listing
we can easily up the limit to 65535, and we will do at least that much
We compile with LC(32767) and there isn't a single program that generates more than "one" page of source listing, and I'm personally only aware of one program that would result in two pages of source listing at this linecount. Introducing a LC(0) might have some benefits, but changing from LC(n) to either LC(0) or LC(32767) would require just one change in the compile procedures or compiler options setup, and given that the poster indicates that listings are never printed, I personally don't see the point.
