This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
Product family - Programming Languages
Product - PL/I Compilers
For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
Brand - Rational
Product family - Design & development
Product - PL/I Compilers
The suggestion that a requirement be raised against CICS is incorrect. Language environment intercepts the PLI PUT request and directs it to CICS CESE transient data destination, adding prefix data. Hence the requirement needs to go to Language environment.
John Tilling
CICS Strategy and Planning
In PL/I, the output of PUT LIST statements could be prefixed - by the user - with the PACKAGENAME() and/or PROCNAME() built-in functions and this would help with identifying these lines in the CICS output.
But if this kind of identification is wanted in the message prefix, this should be opened as a requirement against CICS
I Think, the prefix of Terminalid, Transactionid and Timestamp comes from CICS, so PL/I have to prefix the own message. I think, this must be an additional option for the PUT statement and maybe also working on all other subsystems (IMS/BATCH/..).
I find it useful, because i needed this sometimes too, and made a procedure for putting to SYSPRINT with the prefix of own PGMNAME and mostly also with Timestamp.
