Workspace PL/I Compilers

PTF UI15522 affects our production PL/I programs.

After applying PTF UI15522 to our Test LPARs, some PL/I programs
started to get 'IBM0508S ONCODE=2108' errors. When we examined APAR PI12192, we saw that changes on VALIDDATE function for date '00010101' are effect us.

As far as I got the information from our developers, they have many
PL/I programs validating date '0001.01.01' with VALIDDATE function.
After this PTF they have to change them. But they do not want to change them. Because the number of PL/I programs using such kind of VALIDDATE funcition are quite a lot and they do not want to modify them.

an APAR will be opened to revert the behavior to what it was. The new behavior will be permitted in the future but only when a new option is specified and code is recompiled
