Built-in Function SYSDSN

PL/I is lacking the ability to check for the existence of a dataset. Adding a built-in function like the clist SYSDSN function would be very helpful.

DECLARE
FOUND BIT(1) INIT('0'B);

FOUND = SYSDSN("MY.DATASET");
FOUND = SYSDSN("MY.PDS");
FOUND = SYSDSN("MY.PDS(MEMBER)");
FOUND = SYSDSN("MY.GDG.BASE");

    While this requirement is valid, based on our current plans and priorities for IBM PL/I for z/OS, it is not likely that this would be implemented in the next 12 months.
    Therefore this requirement is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future.

    We have some Routines that do this, but we would prefer to have a Builtin Function instead.

    this could be useful, but we may choose a different name for the function than SYSDSN
