LE CEEGTJS in PL/I - retrieves the value of an exported JCL symbol.

For the LE Function CEEGTJS (retrieves the value of an exported JCL symbol), we would like to have a same PL/I Function for it. Maybe PLIGTJS.

Delivered as part of APAR PI75582 / PTF UI44364

This is provided via the new GETJCLSYMBOL built-in function

although LE has this function, it doesn't support it under 64-bit and it might be cleaner for PL/I to offer an equivalent built-in function

I don't vote for that RFE. The idea of LE was (and hopefully is still) to offer functions once and not each compiler fraction has to code that function.
