Enhance usability of REPATTERN built-in function by making 3rd argument optional

While DATETIME and TIMESTAMP built-in functions do have a default pattern supported, for REPATTERN both patterns must always be specified, like in the following code example:

dcl saveDT char(17);
saveDT = dateTime();
out = 'Run from: ' !!
 rePattern(saveDT,'DD.MM.YYYY','YYYYMMDDHHMISS999') !! ' ' !!
 rePattern(saveDT,'HH:MI:SS','YYYYMMDDHHMISS999');

I would like that the 3rd REPATTERN argument is optional as well (as the 4th) and that the default for the "source pattern" is based on the length of the 1st argument:

  • Take "YYYYMMDDHHMISS999" as source pattern, if input has length 17
  • Take "YYYYMMDDHHMISS999999" as source pattern, if input has length 20
  • Take "YYYY-MM-DD-HH.MI.SS.999999" as source pattern, if input has length 26
  • Otherwise issue a severe message, that source pattern must be specified

This simplifies the above code example:

dcl saveDT char(17);
saveDT = dateTime();
out = 'Run from: ' !!
 rePattern(saveDT,'DD.MM.YYYY') !! ' ' !!  rePattern(saveDT,'HH:MI:SS');
