This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

When generating a jsf enabled jsp, if in the EGL jsf handler you add a variable having an underscore in it, and reference such variable from a jsf tag, let's say an input field, you'll see the reference with a 005f after the underscore. Meaning: my_var becomes my_005fvar.
Up to now, customer has as his tipical uniform guideline, to separate composite variable names with the underscore. After a certain while, that may become definitely critical (for example with records called with underscore names, having attributes with underscore names, etc...).
Currently, Etnic is a fundamental customer for RBD. On their environment, they have 37 projects ( 32 Web applications and 5 web services). The average JSP per project is between 30 and 40 jsp files. The number of unreadable variables is specific per jsp and application.
I'm attaching to this CR the example jsp with +/- 1500 unreadable variables.

Closing this RFE. Two years later, we still have no expectation for implementing a solution.
Development has spent a lot of time investigating this issue, and we have determined that full solution that would address all situations would be very costly. Therefore we are changing its status from In Plan to Deferred. We do not expect to implement this feature in the near term.
