Production fix for SQL fetch implementation on Rational Business Developer [Rewe] [48132]

At our customer REWE we have encountered a problem with the way that RBD transforms EGL to Java.

The generated Java code will include validations on data obtained from the database even if that validation is unnecessary (e. b. checking for null values of data coming from a non-null defined column).

Paul Hoffman/Raleigh/IBM was the contact who analysed this for me and Matthew Heitz/Raleigh/IBM was so kind as to provide us with a prototype jar file which we could use in our tests on-site. The library was called "noSqlChecks15.jar".

The tests on site were successful and the customer indicates he would like to go productive with the program.

We now need an official fix for this problem until tuesday may 25th in order to re-run the tests and prepare go-live.

The fix must be for JVM 1.5 and the RBD version: 7.5.1.5.

This RFE's Headline was changed after submission to reflect the headline of an internal request we were already considering, but will now track here.

We have provided a prototype to this customer, which disables all SQL null checking. However, this would be too dangerous to use in a production environment. The permanent solution will be to add a build option to specify that the application does not need to have this validation code generated. We currently expect to implement this in the next release.
