Change fixed record implementation

The implementation of a fixed record is at the moment hybrid. The fixed record is represented by an object model, and it is simultaneously backed by a byte storage. This causes at minimum a doubling of any action and the creation of many intermediate Java objects, that take a lot of CPU and memory. This can be more depending on the depth of the fixed record and is strongly influenced by the use of redefines, which should use the identical data.

We propose a simplification of the fixed record construct, choosing either for a full object based approach, where the bytestorage is only built at serialisation time, or a full bytearray based approach, which avoids temporary object creation.

This feature has been delivered in v8.5. We also plan to implement it in fix pack 8.0.1.4.

Thank you for this in-depth analysis. We are always looking for ways to improve performance, especially in the runtime environments. We will consider making this change in a future release.
