This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

This feature was delivered in version 9.6.2.
The feature that is described in this request is a candidate for a future release.
A preliminary evaluation of this request indicates that it is consistent with our business strategy. Further evaluation of this RFE is underway.
I have discussed the details with the customer. The proposed solution (using local design search feature) is not what is expected. The user needs a very quick action to navigate to the design from the source code. Something like a Shift-Click or Ctrl-Click or preferably Ctrl-F3 (almost standard in Eclipse) for example to open the design editor directly (or to navigate to it and put it in front).
For example, using Ctrl-F3 when the cursor is set on a data element in the source code should directly transfer the focus to the design editor for this data element.
Could you confirm us that the local design search feature that takes as input the data element code is not a viable solution as you refer to browsing the full design explorer to do so ?
