Track TAZ Early Development user licenses - number of inactive, active licenses and frequency

  • The customer is requesting IBM to provide detailed reporting on active and inactive user list by frequency. This would help them manage license compliance so they can validate entitlements, plan renewals, and manage budgets effectively.

  • The customer wants reports to track which developers are using TAZ EDTz as they are only using one of the TAZ components today. However, knowing the customer and the future plans of adopting additional TAZ components, we (IBM team) believe that would be nice to have reporting by features (i.e.: unit testing, code coverage, etc.), when and where (by LPAR), and whether they are active or inactive.

  • These reports must be exportable (Excel, CSV, PDF), on-demand, and compliant with GDPR by avoiding personal names or emails—only mainframe IDs like Q123 should appear.

  • The expectation is that managers, directors, and compliance staff will use these reports to ensure that user activity aligns with entitlements and to strengthen software asset management practices already supported by tools like Flexera One and audits by firms such as EY.
