As a database administrator, I want to be able to tell from the console message what application program caused a dump within the TPFDF middleware, so that I don’t need to post process the dump to get this information.

TPFDF itself checks for errors and can detect many error conditions. In these cases, TPFDF and correctly tags the dump message with the calling application program in a centralized error handling routine. However, if the dump happens  in the TPFDF middleware or the TPF control program, then the console messages shows the TPFDF program name in the TRC- field. Having this feature will speed up engaging the right resources and starting to trouble-shoot without having to wait for post-processing.  This is a manual and time-consuming processing involving multiple steps on multiple platforms. It will also allow for more accurate reporting, tracking and analysis of dump statistics and trends in offline user dump history databases. Presently all dump history for the same dump from many different applications is logged under the same TPFDF segments, e.g. OPR-4 from UAP2 during key search address errors. This  will benefit coverage programmers, database administrators and developers and save time and resources and make it easier and more efficient to maintain a production TPF environment with better operational stability .
