This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

In the current environment the default load balance behavior for SSL shared sessions is to assign an SSL daemon at the time the application CTX (context) is created. All sessions for this application will be assigned to this daemon. This behavior can cause the daemons to become out of balance, with one of the daemons having many more sessions. If this situation becomes bad enough the daemon can run out of available memory, and new sessions will fail to establish. To specify that the sessions for a given application are to be load balanced across all the daemons the user must add the application to the "sslshared.txt" configuration file and specify "ALL". It is very easy to miss this step when adding an INETD or HSC application, with the implication that one of the daemons could become overloaded and eventually cause new SSL sessions to fail establishment.
We would like to have the capability for the z/TPF user to change the default behavior of SSL shared session load balancing. We would like the ability to specify a value, perhaps "DEFAULT ALL" in the sslshared.txt file. The user could then determine which behavior best suits their system. This would alleviate the need to update the sslshared.txt file every time a new application is added to the system.
