Encrypt the traffic between the TOS Server and Mainframe OSA-ICC cards

IRS would like to ask if the TPF lab would consider encrypting the traffic between the TOS Server and Mainframe OSA-ICC cards. Currently it is not-encrypted (its on the LAN, not the WAN, its local traffic only). But we’re being asked to verify that we comply with all NIST guidelines. Furthermore, if you are willing to add SSH support (encrypted OSA-ICC support) to TOS, could it please be coded in Java so that it will work with IPv6?

Response from the TPF lab: We agree to secure the connections between the TOS server and OSA-ICC. There are no commitments on the implementation details (TLS versus SSH) at this point.
