RELATED IDEAS

MRD to no longer log release data

MRD processing - We would like to leave MRD ON, however we are asking that a change to the process be implemented that would no longer store/write the releasing diagnostic data into the released file address. On option is to possibly write the log into the file system.

    IBM does not expect to implement this in the foreseeable future.

    Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - z Systems Software
    Product - z/TPF

    For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - z/TPF

    This will be implemented by making the diagnostic data optional. There would be the ability to turn off diagnostic data but leave MRD on for a specific record ID. MRD processing would change the record ID during the release but not write any diagnostic data at the end of the record. MRD would still be able to protect the system from multiple releases, but no diagnostic information would be available. This new option would be on a record ID basis.
