Abstract: A user exit is needed in MQ Comms trace to request the tape name for logging the trace data as an alternative to the RTL. The length of the data to trace should also be a variable that can be returned.
Description: A need exists to write the MQ Comms trace data to a tape other than the RTL tape. In addition, there are instances when less than the entire message is needed for diagnosis. In these cases, it is desirable to be able to specify the length of the data to trace.
Solution Considerations: We believe that a user exit could be provided in MQ Comms trace to allow for these installation specific variables to be specified.
