PJ44697 Alternative method to avoid IPL of LGF to apply IPL Text to online IPLable Modules

Provide an Online zEntry command that will apply any given IPL TEXT to the IPL'able Online modules. This function would be similar to what ACPL does during a LGF IPL. Additionally, the function should also include the capability to fallback the IPL Text. The entry should be able to work in a loosely coupled or uni environment while in Norm State receiving message.
By IPL text we are referring to the changes within PJ42031, which update IPL1/2 and IPLA

    Had a conference call with customer to discuss this RFE. IBM plans on implementing once a processor is released that that no longer supports ESA/390 mode.
    If PJ42031 is applied without using the general file loader (ALDR) then the updated version of IPL2 will be missing. However, the old version of IPL2 will work with the updated versions of IPLA/IPLB.
    However, ZIMAG PRIMARY would not work. PJ42534 was done to allow ZIMAG PRIMARY to work with both the old IPL2 and the updated IPL2.
    PJ42534 should be loaded along with PJ42031 if ALDR is not used to do the load.

    Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - z Systems Software
    Product - z/TPF

    For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Transaction Processing
    Product - z/TPF

    Update provided.
    Yes, these (69237 and 58170) are duplicates, but I'd prefer that the newer one be kept in lieu of the original. I want to keep 69237 and delete 58170. Thanks...

    Jaehan (HP) also sent the following..."I went to a hot topic session at TPFUG. At the session we discussed about removal of zOS dependency from TPF. There is a task force team for it. ICSDSK(?) which puts IPL text is a zOS utility.

    This RFE is requesting the removal of one of zOS dependency. I hope this RFE can update IPL text on LGF pack also

Need new option for writing IPL text

We would like an option or feature within z/TPF to write the IPL text. This is being requested so as to avoid the IPL of a LGF to write the IPL text to the modules.
