SON POOL DIRECTORY UPDATE ECB CREATE CONTROL

During pool directory update, program DYDU uses IBMBATCH lodic class to control number of child ecbs to be created. Our IBMBATCH value for ECBs is 70 percent. We have 8650 ecbs defined. DYDU uses CREMC to create child ecbs. This results in significant list congestion for ISTREAM 1 (DEFER list).

As a test, I modified the DYDU create children loop to limit ecbs to the value created via ZRPDU CNTL MAXECBS. I then set MAXECBS to 25. This resulted in rather than hundreds of ECBS residing on ISTREAM 1 defer list, a max of 25. The length of ZDUPD S execution time was increased by only a few seconds.

Requesting the lab provide this or a similar logic to better control the number of ecbs used in this process.
