TPFDF CRUISE on a Shadow image via FDRSC macro

The TPF FDRSC macro allows to read a TPF record from a Shadow Image (HDS snapshot image).
We would like a way to use FDRSC with the CRUISE utility. A new parameter has to be added at ZFCRU SETUP level to specify the Shadow Image name and the FINWC has to be replaced by FDRSC in UFI2, UFI4…
This new feature can be provided thanks to a new user parameter and user exit…
We already test successfully these minor changes which allowed us to verify a database on a Shadow Image and also to restore a database from a Shadow Image to the production DASD.

HDS has been working with SNCF during their development process. The FDRSC macro was written in response to a TPFUG database subcommittee request many years ago. As a reminder, this macro is a storage vendor supplied tool that allows the TPF customer to directly access a TPF record on backup copy of their database. The FDRSC macro is very similar in use to the find macros, except that the read is done from the backup copy of the database and not the production copy of the database

The HDS opinion is that this request by SNCF is a vendor neutral request and that their request is a valuable use of this FDRSC tool.
