z/TPF PARM keyword on ZINET ALTER Command - RFE arising from PMR Response

IBM has responded to the question submitted in z/TPF PMR 03072.004.000 that it is a legitimate item which a feature update could address. The PMR response requested that an RFE be submitted for the matter, in order to be pursued. This is that RFE submission. This, below, is the same information as provided previously in the PMR 03072.004.000, but will be re-posted here, immediately below, as the Requirement.

The information originally supplied as a question on the PMR was...

The ZINET ALTER entry for altering keyword values on Internet Server
listener daemons allows the 'PARM' keyword to have values changed.
However, it is unclear from either documentation or from my
experimenting in test systems whether it is possible to ZINET ALTER a
service that previously does have a value for the PARM keyword, so that
PARM no longer has a value. For example, if the service had been added
with entry...

ZINET ADD S-SERV1 PGM-prog PORT-nnnn MODEL-AOR PROTOCOL-TCP AORL-16
PARM-HELLO

,,,but then later wanted to revise this to eliminate any PARM value
(not just change it), I don't see how to perform something such as...

ZINET ALTER S-SERV1 PARM-NONE

...where the PARM value might disappear entirely, as if a null string.

Is there something I'm overlooking in the documentation - is there a
way to specify this on the ZINET ALTER entry so that where a PARM value
previously existed it can be removed entirely? At present, in the
absence of being aware of such an option, we've deleted the listener
service then re-ADDed it with ZINET ADD without the PARM keyword.

The IBM response to the PMR is...

IBM Update4/7/14 10:13 PM Action taken: Update from development: This is a valid concern, we
would like to address this via the RFE process. Can you please open a
requirement?
--------

So, the Requirement is to provide some option on the PARM keyword of the ZINET ALTER entry so that a previously existing none-null value for the keyword could be reset to no value at all (i.e. set to a none-null value). Currently the only options for eliminating a value for the PARM keyword is to entirely delete the ZINET service item and re-add it without including the PARM keyword; there is no option for addressing this with the ALTER verb.

Thanks and Regards.

Based on priority and resources, IBM does not intend to implement this in the foreseeable future.

IBM does not believe the PARM parameter for a given server would change frequently. The ZINET server definition can be deleted and re-added with the new PARM statement if the functionality is needed.
