MQ/Series Trace Postprocessor Enhancements

Abstract: The MQ/Series Comms trace post processor should be enhanced to accept user parameters. The parameters needed are channel name, start date and time, and end date and time. In addition, the data in the message should be translated when appropriate.
Description: In order to reduce the amount of MQ Comms trace data output, and allow the installation to target specific channel names for trace reduction, parameters need to be passed to the trace reduction program and used to filter the data on the tape.
Solution Considerations: We believe that a change to allow parameters in the offline MQ Comms trace reduction program will allow for better analysis of any MQ situation that may need trace data.
