TOS MCS Proposal (DXC/IBM)

The proposal from IBM is to modify TOS to allow individual MCS definitions, rather than the current process which requires either all to utilize MCS or none. This enhancement would allow us to only define MCS for certain circumstances that make sense to utilize this feature, but allow us to continue with our current process for those that don't need MCS. DXC would be willing to be a BETA tester of this enhancement, to assist IBM in testing this functionality and potentially provide input into how this enhancement can be utilized.

Multi Console Support (MCS) in z/TPF, when turned on, indicates to z/TPF that a header is added to each output message that includes a TA and FSC bits. This MCS header allows a product like TOS to route the solicited output to only the TOS client that entered the corresponding command. Today, enabling MCS within TOS is done at the server and is in affect for all client sessions. This enhancement would allow MCS to be defined for a specific client session.
